Kennett Road Dental Practice
Architects: Leap Architects
The practice was essentially operating from the ground floor of a semi-detached building with a flat on the first floor. The growing business needed to double in size and capacity whilst remaining open to patients throughout the works.
Working closely with the architects and clients we completed the project in phases. The first phase was a single storey extension at the rear of the building with the hard landscaping of a garden and the removal of a grassy bank to make space for a small staff car park and push-bike storage. With two new treatment rooms and a decontamination room in the new extension the practice was able to move into the new space while we worked on the existing building.
We completely remodelled the ground floor to increase the total amount of treatment rooms from two to four including a patient waiting area and staff accommodation on the first floor.
Just as importantly as creating additional treatment rooms the new structural work removed the narrow corridors and opened up the space throughout the building to create an airy and welcoming reception and practice.
